The only thing i find slightly embarassing is when a Queen song comes on and people talk about how wierd the guy that singing sounds. Now obviusly they dont think outside the box very well and can not see Freddie Mercury's tremendouse talent.

When I said Queen is famous in a lot of places I meant there music and history, not actually all 4 of them bein' together, since that's impossible...

But what I hate is how so many people in my area reconize Queen as a gay band (when indeed only Freddie was gay which I have no problem with, I think it teaches us to have open minds because wonderful people could be gay and it doesn't matter) and nothing more. I wish everyone could see how much of a phenomenon Queen was. I know Queen is very famous in a lot of places, but not as much where I live.[/QUOTE]

Shows you how narrowminded a lot of people are when it comes to Freddie and Queen!

Cool Cat, Who Needs You, Delilah, Misfire, One Year of Love, In Only Seven Days, The Miracle (song), It's A Hard Life, (and a few others). OK, I know I'm sort of picking on Deacy a bit. It's just that the list of his songs I honestly LIKE is but one song long... AOBTD. Oh how I wish it weren't so!

Someone used the word "schmaltzy" and I have to say that pretty much sums up the CAUSE of the embarrassment... I think they finally got "schmaltz" right on These Are The Days Of Our Lives and A Winter's Tale (I don't think Deacy penned either of those), but they had far too many failures over the years. Why didn't they just team up with Streisand back in the 70's if they were so bloody intent on going that easy listening "schmaltz" route? (THANK GOD THEY DIDN'T)

Or did Streisand secretly appear on "The Man In The Shadows"? ;-) (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

Nothing really cos it's not my business what they do. But if there's something I found absolutely useless I have to say the Pepsi Ad with Britney Spears!

There's absolutely NOTHING that embarrases me about Queen!!! And I mean Queen while Freddie was alive. For God's sake, I adore them, how could I ever be embarrased about them?? There are certainly some things Brian and Roger did that made me feel sad, like Pepsi comercials etc. But not embarrasing.. And I was always extremely proud on them, and thir music, don't give a damn about people saying they were gay band and similar shit. It just shows how ignorant and narrowminded some people are. Concerning Sun City, not embarrased at all. Queen were never a political band (as they themselves said many times) and they wanted to play where ever people wanted to see their shows. So once again, I'm extremely proud on them!!!!

Yes, the homosexuality of Freddie sort of erks me a bit when the topic 'Queen' comes up. It's usually something like 'Queen, they were gay' so I come back with 'Shut up, you fucking faggot' and bash them to death with The Works vinyl.

Something like that, any way.

Another thing that embarrases me is that people don't know Queen. I Want it All came on T.V for a car ad..can't remember which one..later on I played both version and someone piped in with 'Someone made a long song of the ad?'.. I sat and cried for months.

"A lot off us really love Queen, but that little gay thing bothers me to.

Oh yes by the way, I know I am wrong that that gay thing bothers me, so don't start up a fight against me that I am gay unfriendly (Cause I am Not)"

Eerrrm... wait a second. If you're not gay unfriendly then how come "that gay thing" bothers you??.. Call me crazy but this makes no sense.

Well I don't think they embarass me with anything. I love them so much! They changed my life! But it's true that I get very angry when I hear unpleasant things about Freddie's sexual orientation (I mean when people look at him despisingly because of that, which really drives me out of my mind - why are they so interested in his private life?), it's that many people say that if he were straight, he wouldn't have died, but as long as I know everybody can get the bloody disease from anyone. So... And what makes me angry is that nobody says anything about Elton John, David Bowie, George Michael, they're gays too, but no one seems to notice that because they're still alive. Poor Freddie!

The thing that embarrasses me most about Queen is that one of the songs they are going to be remembered for, among semi-fans and above, is "Tie Your Mother Down". I need to go mourn for a bit. Just talking about it depresses me.

The one hate the most when I tell people I like Queen is that they say things like: "Hm, Queen? Great band! But lousy image." I don't care about anybody's sexual orientation. They should look at themselves first, and then throw the stones.
