Well, i think Freddie was, is and will be the most spectacular singer, no just for sing, that includes a lot of other stuffs (movement, show, etc.)
Axl Rose is an example of a singer who sing out of tune.
Freddie mix the movements with an spectacular voice, and that is very unique.

Give me only one singer who never had fuck-ups on stage! Roger Daltrey, Robert Plant, Mick Jagger, every great singer had fuck-ups! In the studio, you have plenty of other chances to re-do your vocal tracks, but not live and that's why live work is always the ultimate test of truth for a singer, and Freddie was simply a winner. His bum notes will always be better than Axl Rose's great ones (this guy doesn't match even Ozzy Osbourne, needless to say).

I can't believe people are still offended about this topic. I've mentioned countless of times that I think that Freddie was without a doubt one of the greatest singers of all time, but yet still people just get all frisky.
For God's sake. Freddie Mercury was known for being a briliantly powerful live singer. Occasionley he had a few hiccups like on 'Who Wants To Live Forever?' at Wembley '86. So what? 'Singers' now couldn't sing live for their life so stop critiscing every little thing!

it's funny someone mentioned "who want's to live forever," when his voice cracked in the beginning of the song, that's a great example of a fuck up, but, it's still one of my favorite live songs ever. he makes up for that one bad moment in great style, i think freddie's operatic voice was at it's strongest for the remainder of that song.
