Yeah, yeah, we all know North American fans have little interest in this because we have following already:

i) Classic Queen
ii) Greatest Hits (red)
iii) Platinum Collection (UK Hits I, II & III)
iv) Greatest Hits: We Will Rock You Edition
v) Stone Cold Classic
vi) The A - Z of Queen, Vol. 1

Not to mention older Hits collections which are out of print and the collections from other countries (Jewels I & II, etc.). I don't include Queen Rocks on that list because it's deliberately not a hits collection. I'm getting away from point here, which is this: this new collection appears to be directed at the non-US market. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the UK Hits I, II and III the only collections available in there? If so, that means Queen Productions seems to want to make a single disc Hits CD available for casual fans there.

That being said, I've been watching as the track listing has been revealed and it looks like QP have selected tracks which were UK Top 10 singles.

According to http://www.pcpki.com/queen/singles.html here are the singles and their Top 10 chart positions:

Revealed tracks:
i) We Will Rock You                 UK #2 (via "Champions," "WWRY" was never an A-side in the UK)
ii) We Are The Champions        UK #2
iii) Radio Ga Ga                        UK #2
iv) Another One Bites The Dust    UK #7
v) I Want It All                            UK #3
vi) Crazy Little Thing Called Love    UK #2
vii) A Kind Of Magic                    UK #3
viii) Under Pressure                    UK #1
ix) One Vision                            UK #7
x) You're My Best Friend            UK #7

So, remaining Top 10 UK singles are as follows:

The Seven Seas Of Rhye            UK #10
Killer Queen                               UK #2
Bohemian Rhapsody                    UK #1
Sombody To Love                        UK #2
Don't Stop Me Now                      UK #9
Flash                                        UK #10
I Want To Break Free                   UK #3
It's A Hard Life                            UK #6
Breakthru                                    UK #7
Innuendo                                    UK #1
These Are The Days Of Our Lives    UK #1 (AA-side with the 1991 re-issue of "Rhapsody")
Heaven For Everyone                    UK #2
A Winter's Tale                            UK #6
Let Me Live                                UK #9

So, that leaves 14 Top 10 singles from the UK. QP has already said there will only be 20 tracks, so only 10 of the remaining 14 can make it on. If they plan to max out the 80 minutes of a CD (which they'll have to, squeezing them all on) and not edit any of the tracks, chart position alone won't be enough to guarantee inclusion (the two #10 tracks, "Rhye" and "Flash" are the shortest available)

My guesses, in no particular order are:

Somebody To Love
I Want To Break Free (Single Version)
Heaven For Everyone (Single Version)
The Seven Seas Of Rhye
Killer Queen
It's A Hard Life
Breakthru
Innuendo
Bohemian Rhapsody.

Oh, sorry. I forgot that Serious Discussions are based soley on the merit of popularity. Did you actually read my post or did you dismiss it out of hand because it's about a release you don't care for?

Dude, if you don't care about a subject, why bother replying?

You have been here for over a hundred posts now, surely you must have worked out by now that this site is a breeding ground for trolls, and for every serious post there are at least five posts that ridicule, piss-take, insult, contradict (even if OP was fact), dismiss, nullify, laugh at, humiliate or just plain belittle them?

Don't take it personally, if someone else wants to feel big by doing any of that to someone else then just let them have their moment. By all means reply, but to ask WHY? is just heading toward frustration.

You're totally right, I shouldn't let dumbasses get to me.

Every now and then, though, you just feel the need to swat at the mosquitos even though they'll never entirely go away.

Replace Breakthru', IAHL and Innuendo with DSMN, TATDOOL, and WWTLF, add in TSMGO (you only guessed 9 of the remaining 10) and you've got it rhyeking.

You've also got at least one in the right order...

"Replace Breakthru', IAHL and Innuendo with TATDOOL, WWTLF and TSMGO and you've got it rhyeking."

Maybe...

We won't know until it's all over, but I hold to my theory of Top 10 UK hits making the cut. You'll notice I don't include "Bicycle Race" and "Fat Bottomed Girls," which peaked at #11.

For the record...

These Are The Days Of Our Lives was #1 (so you might well be right on that one).
Who Wants To Love Forever was #24
The Show Must Go On was #16

We might both be wrong and my theory might get shot down by the inclusion of "Body Language," haha. (For the record, BL was #25).

Oh, and my 10th pick was "Flash," which makes the Top 10 (at #10) and is short, so longer songs like "Innuendo" can fit.

But trust me, I'm right. I'd even give you the order if it didn't compromise the competition.

Insider information? Interesting!

I predict that It's a Hard Life (#6) and Breakthru (#7) are left on the cutting room floor ... and the following songs make the cut:

Killer Queen                               UK #2
Bohemian Rhapsody                    UK #1
Sombody To Love                        UK #2
I Want To Break Free                   UK #3
Innuendo                                    UK #1 (but heavily edited and butchered)
These Are The Days Of Our Lives    UK #1 (AA-side with the 1991 re-issue of "Rhapsody")
Heaven For Everyone                    UK #2
A Winter's Tale                            UK #6

and ...

The Show Must Go On            Not UK top 10 (aka Brian pouts)

C-lebrity                                 Did it even chart? (aka QPR is "essential")

If WWtLF somehow makes the cut, then Roger seriously needs to grow some gonads.

"C-lebrity" isn't on the list of tracks fans can choose from. Actually, there are no tracks from Queen and The Cosmos Rocks, so "Keep Yourself Alive" and "Liar" (neither of which charted) don't get a shot either.

Although I have been proven wrong .. I am glad to hear that C-lebrity won't be included.

then perhaps IaHL (#6) makes the cut?

It would have been a nice idea adding some obscure songs like Fairy Fellers, Ogre Battle, White Queen etc. to this compilation. So, the idea of 'absolute greatest' not only refers to sales figures, but also to quality. Might be a handy trick to get more people into Queen.
