As predicted, The Show Must Go On is Track 19. I think we can all guess what Track 20 will be!

i) We Will Rock You                             UK #2 (via "Champions," "WWRY" was never an A-side in the UK)
ii) We Are The Champions                    UK #2
iii) Radio Ga Ga                                    UK #2
iv) Another One Bites The Dust               UK #7
v) I Want It All                                        UK #3
vi) Crazy Little Thing Called Love              UK #2
vii) A Kind Of Magic                                UK #3
viii) Under Pressure                                UK #1
ix) One Vision                                        UK #7
x) You're My Best Friend                        UK #7
xi) Don't Stop Me Now                            UK #9
xii) Killer Queen                                     UK #2
xiii) These Are The Days Of Our Lives     UK #1
xiv) Who Wants To Live Forever                UK #24 (the first non-UK Top 10 hit here! [sigh])
xv) The Seven Seas Of Rhye                    UK #10
xvi) Heaven For Everyone                        UK #2
xvii) Somebody To Love                          UK #2
xviii) I Want To Break Free                      UK #2
xix) The Show Must Go On                    UK #14 (the other non-UK Top 10 hit)

Weird. "It's a Hard Life" peaked at # 6 and it's not there. Here it's said that "The Show Must Go On" peaked not at #14, but #16: http://www.chartstats.com/artistinfo.php?id=400

So they could have included based on the hit theory instead of the record sales theory or Brian's ego theory, all of them (theories) very plausible:

1) Winter's Tale
2) Let Me Live
3) Innuendo (#1)
4) Breakthru' (#7)
5) It's a Hard Life (#6)
6) Flash (#10)

But no: the unbearable "Another One Bites The Dust" had to be there instead of Innuendo, one of Queen finest tracks, or "It's a Hard Life".

Tracks that peaked higher than "Show Must Go On" and/or "Who Wants To Live Forever":

1) Now I'm Here (#11)
2) Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy (#17)
3) Bycicle Race/Fat Bottomed Girls (#11) -> though here I must confess I prefer Who Wants To Live Forever.
4) Save Me (#11)
5) Play The Game (#14) -
6) Las Palabras (#17) - Peaked higher than Who Wants To Live Forever, wow!
7) Hammer To Fall (#13) - Higher than both
8) Thank God It's Christmas (#21) - tops "Who Wants To Live Forever".
9) Friends Will Be Friends (# 14)
10) The Invisible Man (#12)
11) The Miracle (#21) - tops "Who Wants To Live Forever
12) I'm Going Slightly Mad (#22) - tops "Who Wants To Live Forever
13) Headlong (#14) - Tops "Who Wants To Live Forever
14) Too Much Love Will Kill You (#15)
15) You Don't Fool Me - The Remixes (#17)
16) No One But You/Tie Your Mother Down (#13)

My mistake, I meant to type The Show Must Go On as charting at #16, not #14 (I was in a hurry, oops).

And yes, Yara, Queen had 24 original UK Top 10 Hits, 18 of which appear on this collection. I'm not including the Queen + 5ive remake of We Will Rock You, the George Michael + Queen version of Somebody Love and the 1991 re-issued Bohemian Rhapsody, all of who reached the UK #1 as well, because they are...well...reduxes. Plus, it would seem redundant to include the Q+5 WWRY and the GM+Q STL on Absolute Greatest, as the originals are present and the push is to promote Queen, not the Queen+ projects (David Bowie sneaks in there, but that was an original collaboration between the five men, not just a re-recording).

TSMGO being included is not entirely unreasonable.

TSMGO reached #7 and charted for 12 weeks in Holland.  Supposed, and it sounds unlikely to me, TSMGO reached #2 and charted for 17 weeks in the USA?

However including WWTLF instead of Innuendo is extremely questionable.

This probably marks the end of the thread, with the last track of Absolute Greatest reveal as (surprise, surprise): Bohemian Rhapsody.
