I Want To Break Free, Somebody To Love, The Show Must Go On and Bohemian Rhapsody.
No diggity no doubt. I'll be having grass for dinner if otherwise, i tell you.
Shame about Innuendo and Tie Your Mother Down though. Real shame.
And I'm not surprised Who Wants To Live Forever is included. It deserves to be, cause it turned into a stone cold classic. I mean, it's in every 'funeral-chart' you read about, ain't it?

I have to admit I was really excited about this project but now I kinda have my doubts. I took the known songs and added them to be burned on a blank cd. After adding the obvious Bohemian Rhapsody to my list and adding I Want to Break Free and Somebody to Love there was only 4:30 left on the blank cd. So my guess is that Innuendo will not be on the album. That really blows my mind why they added Who Wants To Live Forever, Innuendo should have been added instead. And If they do add Innuendo than that means either Bree Free or Somebody to Love would be cut. Adding Who Wants To Live Forever was a mistake.

Interesting list Rhye king, thanks!
I agree with you about the final four Maximo.
That'll mean that Who Wants to Live Forever will get Innuendo's place and The Show Must Go On will get Breakthru's.
If they hadn't done that Brian would have only one solo writing credit!
Not only should 'Who Wants' not be here, it shouldn't have been a single in the first place! It got chosen ahead of Princes of the Universe in 1986 for crying out loud!
Cheers,
The Voice.

You're totally right, I shouldn't let dumbasses get to me.
Every now and then, though, you just feel the need to swat at the mosquitos even though they'll never entirely go away.

I like that analogy muchly

Track 17 = Somebody To Love
i) We Will Rock You UK #2 (via "Champions," "WWRY" was never an A-side in the UK)
ii) We Are The Champions UK #2
iii) Radio Ga Ga UK #2
iv) Another One Bites The Dust UK #7
v) I Want It All UK #3
vi) Crazy Little Thing Called Love UK #2
vii) A Kind Of Magic UK #3
viii) Under Pressure UK #1
ix) One Vision UK #7
x) You're My Best Friend UK #7
xi) Don't Stop Me Now UK #9
xii) Killer Queen UK #2
xiii) These Are The Days Of Our Lives UK #1
xiv) Who Wants To Live Forever UK #24 (the first non-UK Top 10 hit here! [sigh])
xv) The Seven Seas Of Rhye UK #10
xvi) Heaven For Everyone UK #2
xvii) Somebody To Love UK #2
My previous B-Side list would have a different order, but the same tracks.

Actually three songs out of one of Queen's lamest albums (AKOM) is a bit too much of a reward. If Brian wanted writing credits he could have filled that space with two better songs.

You do understand that A Kind Of Magic is partially a soundtrack album, with AKOM, OYOL, WWTLF, GTP (KT), DLYH and POTU written for Highlander. DLYH was reworked from A Dozen Red Rose For My Darling, yes, but it amounts to the same thing: half the album stems from that movie. The original LP/CD/Cassette release of the album also totes One Vision as 'from the motion picture "Iron Eagle" (it wasn't written for it, but it was prominently featured and Queen had no qualms advertising the song that way).
It would have been lame if Queen didn't collect these songs for release, because no official Highlander Soundtrack came out at the time, despite being advertised in the credits for the movie. It's not entirely fair to view this album the same way you would with Jazz or News Of The World.

What people still fail to realize is Queen are a *rock* band, and were more important on the FM rock album-oriented stations than the pop stations, so their "hits" should not necessarily correspond with how the singles charted.
Hopefully Queen will finally realize this, and realize that "Tie Your Mother Down" is much more worthy of a compilation like this than "Body Language".

That's exactly why they released the Queen Rocks compilation, to feature their heavier stuff over the lighter "Hits".

You mean that compilation which tracklist was changed to include more hits, like TYMD, WWRY, SSOR, IWIA, Headlong, Hammer to Fall, Now I'm Here, One Vision and Fat Bottomed Girls instead of including REAL rock tracks like Gimme The Prize, Princes of the Universe, Dead On Time and Liar?

How do you figure the tracklisting was "changed"? Name your source.
And this has to be the first time I've heard anyone ever argue that because a song was hit, it's not a REAL rock track. Are you actually saying you believe Dead On Time is more rock than Tie Your Mother Down or Fat Bottomed Girls? What are you defining as "rock" here?
My definition: electric guitars, strong vocals, uptempo, some ballsy lyrics and/or delivery, and a catchy riff. ALL the songs you listed, Hits and album tracks alike, fit this bill.
It sounds to me like all you wanted was a collection which featured songs that weren't on a Greatest Hits album.

I Want To Break Free is officially Track 18
i) We Will Rock You UK #2 (via "Champions," "WWRY" was never an A-side in the UK)
ii) We Are The Champions UK #2

I think it's safe to say The Show Must Go On and Bohemian Rhapsody are going to close out the collection. TSMGO and WWTLF I'm still kind of reeling from, as they left a #1 Hit in Innuendo off in favour of a #24 Hit.

You should celebrate "Who Wants To Live Forever"!!! It's a wonderful song, even if it undermines your theory a bit. : -)))
Ah, your theory held fast. As of now, it's the only one which didn't make the UK-top 10. It's still possible to dismiss it as a "random unpredictable variant of very low incidence". : -)))
I'd prefer: One Vision - Don't Stop Me Now - You're My Best Friend - Killer Queen.
Just a curiosity, I'd love to know that: I always thought We Are The Champions had been a #1 UK hit. Well, it turns out it wasn't; is there a way of knowing which song topped We Are The Champions back then? It'd be fun to know.
