We´ll see...4 (or 5) solo albums + 3 The Cross albums + 3/4 Cds with single/extended versions and 1/2 DVD with videos or appeareances...
It would be great, but is there any market for this? I mean, as a RT fan i want something like this but i think won´t be many potential buyers as FM box for example.
And we´ll see the tracklist too...I hope they include every single song. From I Wanna Testify to 2013...But i think many songs won´t be on this box. (My opinion based on the last releases). I really hope to be wrong, because i do want a box as complete as possible.
**
As to 'potential buyers'......I don't know how many Solo Collections were sold, but the market was certainly diminished by the cost. It's been so long, but I think I spent about $200 for it as a preorder. There's enough of us around to make it worth their while.
If Roger and the PTB don't go overboard with packaging, etc, for under $100 we'll add it to the collection. It will be nice to have very high quality CD versions of 'Manipulator' and some others, instead of pretty good cdr quality recordings taken from vinyl....which is what we've had for the past 15-20 years.
Not that he's scrounging for money, but he deserves to be paid for music that we've enjoyed all these years. I'm sure he will (has to) share it with some of his cohorts, so bully for them as well.

Hopefully we get the "Lucille" unreleased studio version from the "Electric Fire" sessions, "A Nation Of Haircuts" (Number 4 All Over) mix, "Love And Lust" (with Lydia Canaan) and the full version of "I Can Take You Higher".
As for "Fun On Earth", my opinion is that "Unblinking Eye", "Dear Mr Murdoch 2011" and "Say It's Not True (with Jeff Beck)" are not what I was expecting since they were one-off singles and SINT has been already released in many versions both by RT and RT/BM/PR. However they would be nice to have in a bonus disc along with Testify, Turn On The TV, Two Sharp Pencils, Feel The Force, Manipulator, In Charge Of My Heart, Heartland, Final Destination (with Yoshiki) and Keep A Knockin'. I was expecting a full album of brand new songs but anyway after 15 years of waiting, anything will be 100% welcome.
The partial list of songs confirmed for "FOE" reminds me a lot to "Another World", with the difference that that album had too many covers IMO. At the time I was a bit dissapointed to know that it was going to include Memphis, Cyborg, Hard Business (that's how it was known before 1998), On My Way Up and One Rainy Wish. Those -even in different form- were already familiar to fans. Indeed "Hard Business" had been performed in 1993!

So your guess is that it's just a 'Best Of' singles type collection, with no b sides etc, despite what the press release says?? Is this inside knowledge you have, or just guesswork??

To be perfectly fair, a quick read might give you that impression. It could very well be a complete collection of his singles, and it would still fulfill the promise of the press release.
I don't have a 100% trust in the Queen related press releases, and I'm going to wait for the finished physical product before I get excited.

"A MUST HAVE FOR ALL ROCK’N’ROLL FANS, ‘THE LOT’ IS A SPECIAL BOX SET SPANNING THE CAREER OF ONE OF BRITAIN’S MOST SUCCESSFUL ROCK STARS EVER "
How can you build a box set around 1 single compilation cd? (well QPL probably can)

Some quick thoughts on The Lot.
From the Press Release: "‘The Lot’, the complete collection of his rich back catalogue of work spanning his solo career and material from The Cross, in stunning limited collectors editions and digital formats."
It sounds to me like it's not a 'Best Of' single CD release, but will account for his "complete" solo and Cross material. What I think we can glean from this is...
Probable inclusions:
Fun In Space
Strange Frontier (UK Edition)
Shove It (UK Edition, most likely)
Mad, Bad And Dangerous To Know (CD Edition, most likely, with Foxy Lady)
Blue Rock
Happiness?
Electric Fire
Possible inclusions:
Fun On Earth - He may only make it available separately or there might be a boxed set that includes it, like how The Cosmos Rocks vinyl was included in the 2008 re-issues. No way to know until it's announced.
I Wanna Testify/Turn On The TV - I expect somehow these two tracks will be included, either on a "rarities" disc in the box or as a bonus track on Fun In Space or one of the other albums.
Non-Album Tracks - Like the Testify tracks I expect these will be on a "rarities" disc or as bonus tracks on their respective albums
Two Sharp Pencils
Feel The Force
Heaven For Everyone (Roger vocals)
The 2nd Shelf Mix
Manipulator
In Charge Of My Heart
Man On Fire (Live) - Two versions of this, with and without the intro, were released. I hope one, at least, will be on the set somewhere.
Heartland
Final Destination (with Yoshiki)
Keep A'Knockin'
Difficult to predict tracks:
One Night Stand (Electric Fire Version) - If the track which was announced in the press release is this same track, obviously it won't be a rarity anymore. If the new One Night Stand is a remix, a re-recording or an entirely different track unrelated to the EF track, I'd hope to see the EF version accounted for.
Woman, You're So Beautiful (Felix & Arty) - Like One Night Stand, if the the Fun On Earth version is different from the F&A main mix, I hope the three F&A mixes will appear in the box somewhere.
Known Demos/Outtakes - I seriously hope these appear, as well as other such unreleased tracks we haven't heard.
I Wanna Take You Higher
I Can Take You Higher
Keep On Running
Celebration
I Can't Get You Out Of My Head
Lucille
Additional Blue Rock tracks - The band said in an interview for the album that they had something like 25 songs and picked the best ten for the album. Heartland was obviously another track from the sessions, so that leaves 14 songs, possibly unfinished, that may surface for this set. Maybe. The original Dear Mr. Murdoch was also possibly one of these tracks.
Alternate versions - Too many to list fully, but I hope *at least* some of the more significant alts appear, such as:
My Country (Single Version)
All the various Roger/Cross Extended Versions
Shove It (Metroplix Mix)
Love Lies Bleeding (Original Single Version)
Rough Justice (US Version)
Ain't Put Nothing Down (Long Version)
Dear Mr. Murdoch (Promo Version)
The various Nazis 1994 remixes
Foreign Sand (Single Version)
Dear Mr. Murdoch (2011 Remix) - Assuming this doesn't appear on FOE.
The Unblinking Eye (Almost Completely Nude) - Given the standard version (or possibly a remix of it, given the time that's passed) will be on FOE, I hope this instrumental makes it on somewhere.
What would be nice:
A full Cross concert
A full Solo concert
Okay, now onto Fun On Earth
Tracks we know:
One Night Stand - As noted above, it's going to be the lead-off track. It's either going to be the Electric Fire non-album track, untouched, or it'll be a remix, a re-record or an entirely new piece with the same name. If it's not entirely new, I'm still perfectly happy to see it on this album. Depending on whether it's a remix or re-record, it'll affect how I note it in my collection. Currently, it's a EF-related track. It'll be strange to have to move it.
Smile - heard this at the North American Breakthru Con in Toronto in July. It's a softer track, like a happier version of Happiness.
I Am The Drummer (In A Rock n' Roll Band) - heard this at the con, too, a rocker, similar in tone to Millionaire (irreverent lyrics about his role as drummer) and similar in style musically to "No More Fun," a bit.
Say It's Not True (with Jeff Beck) - Okay, yeah, I agree that this is hardly a new song (46664 Versions, ROTC version, Cosmos Rocks Version, live download versions), BUT Jeff Beck is awesome and the song obviously means a lot to Roger, so I don't mind it here. It may even be an awesome version!
Woman, You're So Beautiful - As discussed, this was the Felix & Arty song. Either it's the same Main Mix or a remix or a new/different recording. We'll see. I like the song anyway, so I'm fine with whatever version appears, though I'm hoping there's something new.
The Unblinking Eye - Well, this should be no surprise. We've all known this track was going to be on the album. This one took a while to grow on me, but now I like it well enough (not a top fav, but a good song).
Be With You - Eager to hear this one!
When We Were Young - Can't wait to hear this one, too!
That leaves 5 of the total 13 tracks unidentified!
There's some speculation that Dear Mr. Murdoch (2011 Remix) will appear on the album. I guess it's possible, but I also think there's a big difference between Roger revisiting older non-album tracks for a new album (like One Night Stand and Woman, You're So Beautiful) and him re-using an earlier actual album track for a new album. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think he'll include the Murdoch Remix. If he does, well, it's his album to craft as he will and I respect that.
And I hope the singles for the album contain a good number of alternate versions and maybe even some non-album tracks!
Anyway, those are my thoughts on what we might expect.
I'm thrilled both FOE and The Lot are coming!
:-)

^ I think that outcome would be spectacular.

My 2 cents about 'The Lot'...
1. Hopefully Shove It and Mad Bad albums will be based on LP track list.
2nd Shelf Mix and Foxy Lady are bonus CD tracks and not the proper album tracks. 2nd Shelf Mix is actually Shove It (extended version) and Foxy Lady is the cover which works not so great as the in-the-middle album track. Both tracks better works on the possible 'extra tracks' CD with other b-sides and extended versions.
2. Manipulator hopefully will be included as unedited 4:14 full length version of the song from 12". There's no real need in edited 3:55 7" version.
3. Don't care about Nazis 1994 remixes possibly with exception of Radio Mix and Big Science Mix. Most important thing is the original banned F-word version which hopefully will be included.
4. There's no need in such 'fake' stuff as Rough Justice (US Version). Actually it's a typical one-and-only version featuring unlisted hidden Shove It (reprise) at the end of the US CD track.
The same thing for 2nd Shelf Mix on the UK CD. CD track includes Shove It (extended version) aka 2nd Shelf Mix + unlisted hidded Shove It (reprise). BTW UK LP doesn't have 2nd Shelf Mix but includes Shove It (reprise) after Rough Justice.
5. Hopefully Is It Me? (full length version) with unedited extra verses and choruses will be included.
6. Shove It (Metropolix) along with Manipulator are the only released The Cross tracks which are still unavailable on the official CD. Hopefully both will be released.
7. Hopefully all '77-'84 exclusive vinyl stuff from singles will be released on CD.
8. Hopefully Foreign Sand (single version) without fadeout at the end will be released.
9. Not counting OIQFC Official Bootlegs recordings of London '90 and Dusseldorf '91 concerts, there are at least 3 professionally recorded shows: Germany (exact city is unknown) '90 (proof: Man On Fire live from Final Destionation single), Shepherdbush Empire '94 (proof: Happiness single live tracks) and Cyberbarn '98 (audio+video). Hopefully something from it will be released.

You may want to throw Testify / TV and Pencils into that pool as well. :-)

And while Pencils would be a great SF bonus, let's hope that Testify / TV are not released as FIS bonuses but separately since they are completely unrelated.

Good thread. I'm thinking even the bare minimum albums plus a disc of the best of the B sides is most realistic. I'm happy with that. I'm hoping for a DVD too.

This is probably our last hope to get the complete version of "I Can Take You Higher". I hope that particulary this one makes it to the final cut.

By the way, whatever happened to the announcement earlier this year that fans would be able to effectively select the track listing by hearing tracks as downloads first and vote on them?!?
