By the way, whatever happened to the announcement earlier this year that fans would be able to effectively select the track listing by hearing tracks as downloads first and vote on them?!?
probably the same as with announced Hammersmith and many others :)

Would GT be able to provide a bit more info/confirmation specifically on the inclusion of the different mix of Love Lies Bleeding that I raised earlier in this thread? Cheers
Surely the single version of Love Lies Bleeding is a later more developed version than what appeared on the album? The single version to me sounds like a proper fleshed out Cross recording with live drums (the album version sounds programmed) and the album version if Roger's solo studio creation.

You'd think so wouldn't you, but strangely as the single mix came out first, logic says that the album version is the later, definitive one?

I do also agree that the single mix sounds better, and more like a 'whole band' effort and with a better, clearer drum sound.

Perhaps Roger only had time to flesh out that one song with the band, and putting it on the album would have stuck out like a sore thumb - so was just put out on the single to get it out there. I wouldn't believe for a moment that the album version was completed after the single version, regardless of what was released first.

Just think how much better the Shove It album would have been had all the songs been worked up properly like Love Lies Bleeding was.

"there are at least 3 professionally recorded shows: Germany (exact city is unknown) '90 (proof: Man On Fire live from Final Destionation single)"

This version was recorded in Germany in 1988 because on backing vocals you can hear ladies. And in 1990 band members sang the backing vocals.

Also if you hear the Eslingen recording you can hear a very similar version of released one. Maybe is this version with some work on studio?

Yes, you totally right. This is the 1988 tour version indeed, very close but not from Eslingen for sure.
I never thought it can be version from 1988 tour on last 1990 Mad Bad single.
For me it's a very good news to know that another 1988 concert was properly recorded.
Dortmund '88 show was broadcasted so it was also properly recorded.

Also I forgot about Geneva '90 secret gig which was captured on video.

Maybe is not from Eslingen but sure it has some studio work because in the middle of the guitar solo Roger "starts" to sing again when he always let Clayton finish the solo before he begin to sing again.

This would be a good occasion to solve some mysteries like the real date of Geneve and this live version.

Dortmund was broadcasted on a German Radio but...Who knows if the common 8 songs are everything which is available

Looking forward to this!!!

I hope the box will be released on vinyl and Spotify. That's the future of music to me...

The Geneva gig has always baffled me - pro shot with multi cameras but no top quality audio broadcast sound on it? Surely it must have been filmed for a specific reason - even if just for the band's private archive? Is it just the audio on the VHS copy that I have that makes it sounds as if there's only a few people in the audience, or was the place REALLY virtually empty? (in which case, there's no chance of it ever being commerically released).

As for the Geneva gig, I am very sure that it didn't take place on 1st April. That date comes from a confusion that began spreading several years ago.

Plus the european tour wouldn't start until almost two months later. It doesn't make sense. I am very confident that this gig took place sometime between the second half of may and mid june 1990. Yet no-one knows.

It's very strange how not a single fan has ever reported to attend it.

A really mysterious show.

I think that gig was much more time before Mad Bad Tour began because you can hear the band very nervous and doing A LOT of mistakes that didn´t do on the real tour.

About the people on that gig...Yes it´s true, you can see about...60 persons there?? Maybe it was a private gig

Dear Rien,

Being you who posts this, I already trust that this is 100% accurate info and there's no need to ask regarding sources, therefore I am just about to fall off my chair.

I am as much excited as speechless about this.

Thanks for being the author of one my very favourites and relevant QZ posts of all time. I think that many of us haven't even dreamed about this.

A new album including "Small" and a box with 4 cd's of bonuses + 1 DVD is way beyond of what I have been expecting. Thumbs up to the RT team and whoever is making this possible.

Take care.

If those tracklistings are accurate (and I am pretty confident they are), then we have to thank Roger for approving such a rewarding project for us hungry fans!

Hopefully this'll lead to the commissioning of a Queen box set.... or maybe not. But we can all dream, eh?!?!
My heart got hijacked by you.......
