Official comment from GT regarding the 4CD compilation, via Facebook: "Just to put the record straight - there are not 4 discs of 'unreleased' stuff"[/QUOTE]

Thank you Inu, But in a way it is a nice discussion on what may or may not on the CD's. There is always room for fantasy, isn't there?

Did GT mean that there are not 4 bonus discs? Or are there just that it isn't all demos and unreleased stuff.

Cause I don't think anyone believes it's 4 discs of unreleased stuff. In fact I think most people think it will be a collection of previously released stuff - single mixes, b-sides, etc. And maybe some demos or outtakes. Which is fine.

BUT if there aren't bonus discs at all well that would be shitty after getting hyped...BUT then again, I'd be guilty of not following my own advice of not believing anything until the press release.

I think if the info was bullshit, GT would have said so. The fact that he's just referred to the 4 x CDs is probably a good sign. And by "unreleased" I think he's referring to demos and not the single/alternate versions of songs.
My heart got hijacked by you.......

Khizzy has the right idea. GT likely cannot reveal what exactly is on those 4 CD's if the tracklisting has not yet been finalized and signed off on, but my guess is that it could very well mean that there are items OTHER than "unreleased" material, since all the other single mixes, b-sides, collabs, etc out there are technically previously released material. "Out of print" and "unreleased" are two very different things after all.

I´ll be happy if everything that was released on vinyl as B-side, or CD Single, etc is released with improved sound. Yes even Two Sharp Pencils! But i think they should add at least a few unreleased/outakes songs

And of course, I want to hear a remastered version of Blue Rock.

Thanks inu - that's what I initially thought what the comment meant. I guess the reason I got confused or questioning is because quite frankly I don't think ANYone thought that the 4 discs would be unreleased material. I think we've all figured that if it is the case than it will be the out of print type stuff.

I'm hoping there are a few unreleased takes in there though :)

So... What do you think are the chances this set includes all the Queen songs written by Roger?

That part has been built up in the press release, so you'd imagine it to be included here as well.

Yeah I thought that Tero.

Amazing news about the boxset. A DVD too! My girlfriend will be happy :o)

Good point - could contain some if his working demos for his Queen tracks.

Having said that, the set is a summary if his solo work, so I am doubting that.

GT's post about there not being 4 discs of 'unreleased' material is very disingenuous. I haven't seen a SINGLE claim that there would ever be, only that these discs would/should contain the now out of print, but previously released, tracks. Yes, a few unreleased songs and a few demos of known songs songs would be good though, but no one is expecting heaps of those.

The possibility of a DVD, and the fact that the Fun On Earth album will also be included in the 'The Lot', are both good news.

For those of you who still believe The Lot is going to be a simple compilation, please read the press release better. From Roger's own facebook page: "ROGER TAYLOR - NEW ALBUM ‘FUN ON EARTH’ AND COMPLETE BACK CATALOGUE ‘THE LOT’ DUE FOR RELEASE IN OCTOBER"

So "Complete back catalogue". Rien's list might prove pretty accurate!
