Okay, here's the link I promised:

http://www.terazrock.pl/aktualnosci/czytaj/Roger-Taylor-o-planach-wydawniczych-zespolu-Queen.html

Obviously, it's just an excerpt and it's all in Polish, but basically Roger says that Brian is working on the unfinished tracks, which there are a lot and some of them really good. "Certainly some of them will get a release. However, there are no specific plans or dates as of yet. We still have a lot of studio work to do, in order to find out where we're standing". When confronted if there is a chance for a "Made in Heaven"-style album, Roger says: "No. There is no such plans...". Finally, the interviewer asks about the FM-MJ duets and Roger's reply is that it all depends on Jackson's estate and the negotiations with them, and Sony Music, are difficult. "We have done great work on one of the tracks and another one should also be completed, but we'll see what happens. Unfortunately, the fate of these recordings is not in our hands".

So, a very mixed message overall...

I don't really trust the sources, but here's another link with some "info" about the new album (2014):

Never trust media mass they spout total bollox, I expect a Queen Rocks type album of ballads with 3 unheard tracks, and no Jacko tracks, probably coming out in the summer, accompanied by a short tour.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case. Unfortunately, the magazine Roger was interviewed by is quite a reliable source, if anything like this exists in the Queen world. Fingers crossed for a more substantial release.

John Deacon? Yeah, RIGHT. I think we can confidently declare that article to be full of shit.

So (correct me if I'm wrong please...) at the moment we have 3 songs with MJ+FM and 3 more only with Queen (and John's bass is on at least one of them)?
You´re right, but it can be more. Brian hinted at a possible fourth song with MJ, and in the article posted here he says AT LEAST three new songs (i believe there is a strong possibility of John´s playing on all the three). When Brian says "at least" i interpret it as they´re still looking at the possibility of working on more tracks that are more unfinished - demos- but are good ideas that maybe can come to fruition or not. He´s just being careful with what he says.

But for now, we already have confirmation of 6 new songs with Freddie on it. I don´t care if i heard some of the MJ demos before. They´re still new to me, and this are the most exciting news since MIH. And i have a great feeling about this new album, because i believe that with MJ tracks , this can be their second number 1 in USA. With Universal behind this, i believe this has the potential of becoming their most successful studio album to date.

At least 6-7 new unreleased tracks are a solid base... then they can rework tracks like Love Kills and Let Me Live to finish the album maybe... fingers crossed!

Don't get overly excited people. They have 3 songs, not a new album. Not even 6-7 new unreleased songs. Just 3. And the MJ collaboration tracks will be NOT released until his estate will give the permission to. IF they release the songs, they will release them as extra songs on a compilation, NOT on a new studio album. They are NOT working on "Made In Heaven 2", that was confirmed by both Roger and Brian.

Yes of course :) but original Rod Stewart parts were omitted in the "Made In Heaven" retake, maybe someday we're gonna hear a duet between him & Freddie who knows...

"May also said in 2011 that he was given permission by the Jackson estate to release the pop star's recordings with Queen and Mercury."

http://www.express.co.uk/news/showbiz/418166/Death-is-a-great-career-move-Freddie-Mercury-and-Michael-Jackson-duet-from-the-grave
"The recordings were shelved after they fell out over when to schedule a follow-up session but Mercury's Queen bandmate Brian May obtained permission from the Jackson estate to revive the tracks."

BUT THEN...
http://www.damienshields.com/quincy-jones-sues-the-estate-of-michael-jackson-queen-awaiting-estate-go-ahead-on-jackson-freddie-mercury-duets/
“I think we’re in [The Estate of Michael Jackson's] hands. But obviously, you know, I mean… here they are. We think they’re finished to our satisfaction. If you give us the go ahead we’ll put them out. It’s as simple as that really.”

So from what I've understand they received the PERMISSION to work the tracks, but not the "green light" to RELEASE them. Maybe when work on the 3 tracks will be finished they will evaluate the final product and (hopefully) give the authorization to publish the long awaited material,,,

It occurs to me that the songs that are just scraps could be worked into a medley. I Guess We're Falling Out would be a good place to start on this - as it already is a sort of medley.
