Brian May is no worse than any other musician who is promoting an album or tour. . . . Even Freddie did the job when it was needed.

By the way, I abhor U2 with a "passion", but i would be apprehensive about labelling U2 as trash.

Basically if it isn't fronted by Feddie Mercury or isn't a 70's glam band or fronted by a female bassist singing Devil Gate Drive it's shit.

His list of musicians he has called crap at one point or another include Brian May, Roger Taylor, Rush! Genisis, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio, Steve Perry, Steve Vai, Jeff Beck Frank Zappa the list is endless and serves as a great go to of music you should at least give some time to. . . . If he says its shit you can bet it/they aren't.

As for U2 I'm not a big fan, I dislike more than I like but there's no taking away from the fact that they have a powerful and tight rhythm section in Larry Mullen and Adam Clayton, and The Edge is great at providing a full sound in the same way (though not the same musically) as Brian May does in Queen.

To sweep them aside as trash shows Gerry's one dimensional lack of musical knowledge. What's new!

Oasis have made there whole career impersonating Lennon and U2 are more of a political advert playing music and both bands to me mean absolutely nothing.
