I do have an interest in what Brian and Roger are doing with AL ,it's just does not float my boat.I wish that Brian would give the older fan's a few Box set's to enjoy in our old age ! Queen&AL is purely a concert based band.We have had no new material since TCR in 2008 which was a patchy project, although there were some good tunes ,I enjoyed "Small" and "We Believe" and "Celebrity",which was quite funny as they turned their nose's up at "Pop Idol" and "X Factor."Then employed AL who was a product of what they were snooty about and then even had the most embarrassing moment appearing on a "Queen XFactor Special." This was the most cringeworthy moment as they sank to new depths. It seems that the older fan's have been left behind and if you don't like what we are doing it's hard cheese. At least we have the Album's to enjoy when it was Freddie,Brian,John and Roger,I have been listening to them all this week in the order they were released and I am up to "A Kind Of Magic",which i am listening to as I write these words. The quality of these recording's will alway's be there for us all to enjoy.
I think you have got your wires crossed here, and heard or read something but miss understood what was being said.
Brian, a few years ago, quite clearly stated that he did not agree with the way talent show exploited the people taking part. Making fun of some contestants, building others up to have them knocked down ( or out ). He had never degraded any artist, who ever they are and what ever their route to fame, in public.
Yes Queen have appeared on talent shows, but they've given the contestants they played with equal chance and support.
Celebrity, lyrics by Roger, was about the kind of people that pop up as celebrities, but are only famous for being famous, and the kind of people who think they have a life's worth of stories to tell at the age of 20. Nothing to do with Adam Lambert or anyone else who has achieved something over a number of years.

Thanks for your kind words BrenSKI I have not bought the latest album. One of the reason's I do like to post on this site is out of loneliness,I have recently come out of Hospital where I was being treated for my depression which has been very bad over the last few month's.I was only trying to create a bit of good natured banter.Won't bother again.:-[
Sorry to hear that Philip. Please continue to post whatever you want, whenever you want. I agree with you about Q+AL. Lambert seems like a good guy but his voice and presnetation is often annoying. That said, the collaboation has been ongoing for 8 years now and is successful -- financially, popularity, but for me not artistically --so it's not like anything we say will make any difference.

you started the thread and then told someone else to go find a more suitable place to discuss QAL. can you not see the contradiction there?
also, you said you'd be buying it (for completeness sake) and then said you won't. again, another contradiction.
btw - hope you feel better soon.

I hear a deafening silence here, now that it’s official that the first QAL album Live Around The World made it to
#1 in the UK
#1 in Australia
#2 in Japan
#3 in Germany
I didn’t check other countries. The US is sleeping on that one (#55), but they have been sleeping for almost 40 years, so nothing new on that front!
The album exceeded all my expectations- and probably the band’s as well. Now Brian can stop hesitating. They should just record a new album.
Especially in this crazy lockdown time, when they can’t have much else going on.

#55 in the U.S.?
Where are you getting that number from? The CD/vinyl release has been in the top 10 all week on Amazon and consistently in the top 25 in Amazon streaming. It would have to be flopping hard with all other retailers to debut that low.
Also, as an American fan I know full well that Queen has had a hard slog of it since Hot Space but I wouldn't say that the U.S. is really "sleeping" on Queen as much as they have in the past seeing as the Greatest Hits album has been in the top 40 since the release of the Bohemian Rhapsody film almost two years ago.

That number is from Rolling Stone.

It’s true that America loved BoRhap. But currently they’re sleeping on this new live release. 9.4k albums sold. That’s only about a third of what they sold in the UK.

Oh ok...that's not good and very disappointing! Since every date on the last American tour was sold out it's horrible.
